James Brown made his senior Lions debut in the 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy victory over Gillingham in October 2016.

The right-back, who captained The Lions' Under 23s team, spent part of 2017/18 on loan at Carlisle United for league football experience, and enjoyed further loan spells at Livingston and promotion-winning Lincoln City.

Brown played his first 90 first-team minutes for the club in an Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie at home to Sheffield United in January 2020, and is now spending the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at St Johnstone.
