Exciting winger Jiří Skalák arrived at The Den ahead of the start of the 2018/19 season on a long-term contract from Brighton and Hove Albion, as Millwall fought off interest from other clubs to secure his signature.
The Czech Republic international’s last experience of the Sky Bet Championship was winning promotion with Albion in 2016/17, after signing from Mladá Boleslav in his homeland.
Jiří spent the majority of his early career in his nation’s top flight, and came through the youth system at Czech giants Sparta Prague – featuring for both their ‘B’ team and first XI.
Agile and physical, Jiří is capable on either flank, providing valuable width to any team. After progressing through the youth international sides, he earned his first full cap for Czech Republic in 2015, contributing to a 4-1 win over Serbia, and represented his country at Euro 2016.
The winger is recognised for his delivery and eye for a long-range strike, and made 14 Championship appearances in the 2018/19 season.
