The 27-year-old found the net 10 times in his debut season at Reading in 2017/18, after signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Böðvarsson scored 20 goals for hometown club Selfoss in his first season as a professional aged just 17, as he fired the club to the Icelandic top flight. He would go on to join Viking of Norway in 2012, before making a move to German side Kaiserslautern in 2016.

The striker was part of the Iceland squad to memorably reach the Quarter-Finals of UEFA Euro 2016, scoring in the nation’s final group match against Austria and facing England in the Round of 16 tie. Bodvarsson currently holds 41 Icelandic senior caps, since making his full bow in 2012.
