Scott Fitzgerald

Scott Fitzgerald - Academy Director

Scott has played an integral role in the recent successes of Millwall’s young players and the attainment of Category 2 Status. As a player he had spells with Wimbledon, Millwall and Colchester United. Following retirement as a player with Brentford in 2005, Scott began his career in coaching, heading the youth teams firstly at Griffin Park and then Gillingham. He had a spell as a first team manager at Brentford during the 2006/7 season before joining Millwall’s Academy set-up soon after.

Kenny Brown - Head of Coaching

Kenny is a former professional footballer and represented the likes of for Norwich City,  Reading,  Crystal Palace, Birmingham City and Millwall, amongst others, during a distinguished career. He has also managed Barry Town and CD Jávea and currently holds both the UEFA A license and Advanced Youth Award.

Barry Dunn

Barry Dunn – Head of Recruitment

As Head of Recruitment and Talent ID, Barry is responsible for overseeing the identification of players for the future of Millwall. He has been at the club since 2011 having previously worked at Fulham.

Paul Tighe

Paul Tighe – Head of Education and Welfare

Paul has recently joined the Academy after overseeing education at a Premier League club. He is a former teacher with vast experience in his field of expertise.

Nick Irwin - Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine

Nick is now in his second spell at Millwall, currently working as Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine. A Chartered Physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience working in elite sport, he has previously worked with both Watford and Cambridge United.

Chris Perry

Chris Perry - U18s Coach

Chris brings a wealth of experience to the Academy. As a player he featured for Wimbledon, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Charlton Athletic. He currently holds both a UEFA A license and Advanced Youth Award.

Larry McAvoy

Larry McAvoy - U18s Coach

Larry has worked at the club for a number of years, taking age groups from U9 right up to his current role as U18 coach. He currently holds both a Uefa A license and the Advanced Youth Award.

Seb Barton

Seb Barton - Lead GK Coach

A former stopper himself, Seb is Lead GK Coach within the Academy. He has recently been involved in the England coaching set-up and has played an integral role in a number of Millwall’s young keeper prospects gaining international recognition. Seb currently holds the goalkeeping Uefa B license and the Advanced Youth Award.

Murray Jones - U15/16s Lead Phase Coach

Murray joined the club in July having previously worked at Crystal Palace, Fulham, Reading, Brighton and QPR. He currently holds both the UEFA A License and the Advanced Youth Award.

Dan Mlinar

Dan Mlinar - U12-14s Lead Phase Coach

Dan made the step up to lead phase coach on a full-time basis during the 2015/16 season and is responsible for the U12, U13 and U14 age groups. He was Millwall Lionesses manager during 2014/15 and currently holds a Uefa B license and the Advanced Youth Award.

Paul Palmer - U9-11s Lead Phase Coach

Having worked at the club for almost a decade, Paul knows Millwall inside out. He joined the Academy full-time in 2012 to head up the foundation phase. Paul currently holds a UEFA A license and the Advanced Youth Award.

Darren Stern

Darren Stern - Lead Sport Scientist

Darren joined Millwall from Brentford and became the club’s new Lead Academy Sports Scientist. With seven years’ experience in long-term athletic development, Darren has profound knowledge to help players realise their physical potential.

Emmanuel Udomhiaye - U18s Physio

Manny joined the Academy’s medical team during the 2016/17 season and primarily looks after the medical needs of the U18 squad. He is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a range of valuable skills and a history of working in private practice.  

Sam Percival

Sam Percival – Lead Video Analyst

Sam is new to Millwall, joining as Lead Academy Performance Analyst from Crystal Palace, where he was an Academy Analyst during 2016/17. Sam recently graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a MSc in Sports Performance.
