Bio

George Saville returned to Millwall Football Club for an undisclosed fee on a long-term contract in July 2021.

Saville's career began at Stamford Bridge in the Chelsea youth set-up, before a loan move to The Lions handed him his first professional start in 2013, where he appeared three times.

Loan moves to Brentford and Bristol City followed, as did a three-year spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which included a temporary move back to The Den - one which was followed by a permanent move in the summer of 2017.

In The Lions' first season back at Sky Bet Championship level after winning the League One Play-Offs, Saville hit the back of the net 10 times in a campaign which saw the midfielder play 50 times, earning international recognition with Northern Ireland in the process.

A multi-million pound move to Middlesbrough arose in August 2018, but after three years away, Saville returned to The Den as Gary Rowett's fifth signing of the 2021 summer window.

In his first season back in SE16, Saville made 40 appearances and scored three times, with all his strikes coming at The Den. The 2022/23 season was an arduous one for the midfielder as he played 53 times for club and country, scoring twice.
