Bio
Local lad Billy Mitchell has progressed through the ranks at Millwall over a number of years, and has recently enjoyed a fruitful season with the club's Under 18 and Under 23 sides.
The central midfield player, with a keen eye for a pass and with plenty of potential, made his first headlines in December 2018 when he scored a sensational 30-yard strike against Tottenham Hotspur at The Den in the FA Youth Cup.
Billy's displays since saw him rewarded with his first professional contract at the club, and his first-team debut in The Lions' final game of the 2018/19 League season at Wigan Athletic, playing 12 minutes and receiving a rapturous reception from the travelling fans as he made his bow alongside Academy teammate George Alexander.
Mitchell's rise continued in 2019/20, as he claimed the Young Player of the Year crown, before the midfielder scored his first senior Lions goal in a 4-1 win over Bristol City in the final home game of the 2020/21 campaign.
The midfielder then nailed down a first-team berth in 2021/22, playing 45 times in the heart of Gary Rowett's midfield.
