Kevin Nugent took stock of Millwall Under 23s' season following the final-day 2-1 Professional Development League victory over Sheffield Wednesday at The Den.
Goals from Sean O'Brien and a stoppage-time winner from Tom Leahy gave The Lions three points over The Owls, and Nugent told millwallfc.co.uk his thoughts about the game.
"I thought we started really well, but then the swing of the game and the momentum changed towards the latter part of the first-half," he said.
"We struggled to get to grips with that, but it is the lads' third game in a week, which is unusual for them. Some parts of the performance were bright but some were flat, but they hung it there and found a way to win.
"Tom came on with loads of energy, giving us an out ball down with his running down the channels. I was really pleased for him that he got that winner."
The final whistle concluded another season in charge of the Under 23s for Nugent.
"Overall, it's been OK. In terms of the team side of it, I think we've been quite inconsistent in our performances - maybe that's because we haven't been settled for much of the season with the constant chopping and changing.
"But, we've had people out on loan and that side of it has been successful, plus we've had players make the jump up to the first-team as well. We've now got to make sure that those who come back for next season are ready to go and push again."
