Mixed fortunes for Lions loanees

The first update of the new year...

4 January 2022

Isaac Olaofe and Arthur Penney were the winners over the new year when it came to Millwall Football Club's loanees.

Olaofe featured as Sutton United were 2-1 victors over Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two - a result that moved the Gander Green Lane outfit back into the automatic promotion places - whilst Penney's Welling United secured a 1-0 success at Dulwich Hamlet in the Vanarama National League South.

Elsewhere, Mahlon Romeo played in a 0-0 draw at Cambridge United for Portsmouth on Bank Holiday Monday, with Junior Tiensia involved as Dover Athletic suffered consecutive defeats to Woking and Dagenham & Redbridge in three days.

Dan Moss was suspended for Yeovil Town's 2-1 home defeat to Torquay United, whilst the wait goes on for Alex Mitchell to play as Leyton Orient's New Year's Day fixture against Bristol Rovers was postponed on the day.

Meanwhile, Tyler Burey returned to Hartlepool to play a part in the final two games of his loan spell - a 3-2 loss at Mansfield Town and a goalless draw at home to Oldham Athletic. Burey has now returned to SE16.
