Millwall Football Club, along with millions across the world, is commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day.
Today - 27th January - is the annual Holocaust Memorial Day, where we recognise and remember those lost and affected by genocide.
A candle has been lit at The Den, to remember those who we have sadly lost through these horrific acts - supporters can also participate by lighting a candle in their homes at 8pm - in line with HMD's 'Light the Darkness' campaign.
Six million Jewish men, women, and children during were murdered during the Second World War. To put that into context, that is enough people to fill The Den at full capacity, 300 times over.
HMD (Holocaust Memorial Day) serves as a reminder to us all, not only as a football club, but as a community, to reflect on the past and educate for the future.
Millwall Football Club has also worked alongside Holocaust Educational Trust, who are a UK charity working to raise awareness and to educate about the Holocaust. You can find out more by clicking here.
