Gary Rowett has expressed his love for the Emirates FA Cup - and is looking forward to leading his Millwall side into this Saturday's Third Round fixture against local rivals Crystal Palace (kick-off 12.45pm).
The Lions welcome The Eagles to SE16 looking to build on a strong recent record against Premier League opposition, having defeated AFC Bournemouth, Watford, Leicester City and Everton on home soil within the last five years.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk, the boss explained his thought towards the world's oldest Cup competition.
"It's a fabulous fixture and captures the imagination of anyone who loves the FA Cup - which is most of us," he said. "It's the premier Cup competition, in my opinion, from being a child in 1987 watching the Coventry v Spurs Final.
"You followed it the whole day. It wasn't just about the game, it was the whole day. As a kid, it was absolutely magical. It hasn't changed that much; some would argue that the gloss has been taken off it a tiny bit, but for me, it's still brilliant. It's certainly a fixture our fans, the players and everyone involved with the club are excited by."
