Millwall Community Trust deliver successful ‘Fans United’ FREE football session

24 February 2022

Millwall Community Trust, in partnership with the ‘Fans for Diversity’ campaign, held the first ever ‘Fans United’ session over the weekend. The new sessions that happen every Sunday are FREE football sessions that bring the community closer together in a fun and sociable environment.

Anwar Uddin, the ‘Fans for Diversity’ campaign manager, a qualified UEFA A coach, and England C First-Team Coach, led the session with special guest Peter Sweeney.

Uddin said: “I’m delighted to kick-off our first ‘Fans United’ Sunday session with Millwall Community Trust. It was great to have over 30 fans and community members join us for a social football session with guest player/coach, Peter Sweeney.”

Jorden, a participant of the session, said: “It was great! I really enjoyed the session. We got to experience the joy of free, top-level professional coaching in a friendly, non-pressured environment. Anwar’s coaching was amazing. He had us working at a good intensity, where it also challenged us technically, physically, and mentally.

“Refreshments and food were provided after the session, and it gave us a chance to speak to others in our community.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for the local community, and we got a chance to meet, and have a kickabout with Peter Sweeney, which was another wonderful opportunity.”

The ‘Fans United’ sessions will continue every Sunday. If you would like to book a spot, please email Sean Daly on

Time: 6.30–8pm.
