Gary Rowett was pleased with his Millwall side after Saturday's 1-1 Sky Bet Championship draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
Bartosz Bialkowski saved a first-half injury-time penalty from Karlan Grant to keep the scores level, with Kyle Bartley and Daniel Ballard trading headers to ensure the game finished all square.
"I thought we played really well, it's a difficult place to come," Rowett told millwallfc.co.uk. "I don't think many teams will get anything here because they're so physically strong and quick. They don't allow you space and they press the ball all the time. I thought we navigated it superbly, though.
"They send direct balls into your box and with long throws as well. We had to be a bit more direct ourselves today as well to make sure that we didn't take too many risks in our own half, but the times we managed to settle, I think we looked quite dangerous.
"To go in at half-time with the possiblity of being 1-0 down was harsh - I didn't think it was a penalty. It was a soft penalty to give."
