Last-gasp Lions defeat Watford

Our report from Calmont Road...

2 November 2021

Seb Drozd scored a 91st-minute winner as Millwall's Under 23s came from behind to defeat Watford 2-1 in the Professional Development League at Calmont Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Jimiel Chikukwa gave The Hornets an early lead at The Lions' training ground, but Chin Okoli equalised further into the first-half.

Okoli had the ball in the net once more after the break, but found his header disallowed for a foul, before Drozd tapped home the lively Nana Boateng's cross a minute into stoppage-time to maintain their 100% home record.

The Lions struck the bar twice through Ben Thompson in an eventful affair, whilst The Hornets also hit the woodwork - the post - in the second-half.

Next up for Millwall's Under 23s is a trip to Colchester United on Monday 8th November.

Millwall: Wright, Walker, Garande, Allen, Okoli, Topalloj, Boateng, Thompson, Briscoe (Abdulmalik 62'), O'Brien, Drozd. Subs not used: Gillmore, Leahy, Smith, Adom-Malaki.

Referee: Mr M. Ryan
