Sutton United kept on the coattails of Vanarama National League leaders Torquay United last weekend with a 3-1 defeat of Aldershot Town at Gander Green Lane.
Isaac Olaofe, Louis John and Donovan Wilson found the net as United finished the Bank Holiday weekend four points off The Gulls with two matches in hand.
Sutton travel to Notts County on Tuesday afternoon in one of those games and will go just a point off the summit with victory.
Sam Skeffington and Barnet's attempts at a great escape continued, meanwhile, as The Bees were 2-0 winners at Weymouth last weekend. The Hive outfit are now eight points from safety with six games remaining, and also face Notts County in their next encounter this weekend.
Bromley kept up their push for the Play-Offs with a 1-0 victory over high-flying Hartlepool United at Hayes Lane. The centre-back played the 90 minutes as The Ravens moved into the final Play-Off position. They travel to top-of-the-table Torquay United next up, live on BT Sport on Saturday evening.
James Brown, meanwhile, played 83 minutes as St Johnstone were 1-0 winners at Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League.
