Millwall Romans secured the 2020/21 London Unity League championship title with a 2-1 victory over Stokey FC last weekend.
The London Unity League is an amateur football League based in the capital, designed to allow LGBTQI+ friendly clubs to come together and play football.
The Romans have been sitting at the top of the LUL table and have gone from strength to strength. Growing from just 15 players, they have settled in well at Millwall and have doubled in squad size and popularity.
Despite being hit hard by Coronavirus, The Romans’ spirits were never dampened. This win is another step towards growing their team and raising awareness about the importance of having an inclusive team.
Sean Daly, CEO of the Community Trust, said: "We're so proud of The Romans and everything they have achieved. They continue to be a positive example for the local community and Millwall Community Trust looks forward to giving our constant support in any way we can. Congratulations!"
