Millwall Football Club is delighted to announce that Matt Smith has signed a new one-year contract at The Den.
Since arriving in SE16 in July 2019, Smith has made 77 appearances for The Lions and scored 19 goals in the process.
After leaving Cheltenham Town’s youth setup as a teenager, the 32-year-old rebuilt his career in non-League, striking up a prolific record with clubs such as Redditch United and Solihull Moors.
The towering forward was then given his bow in the EFL with a move to Oldham Athletic in 2011, later playing for Leeds United, Fulham, Bristol City and QPR.
Finishing as Millwall's top goalscorer with 14 goals for the 2019/20 campaign, the forward added a further five to his total tally last season, with his most recent coming in a 2-1 victory away at Reading.
Smith and the rest of his Millwall team-mates will come together for the start of pre-season training on July 1st.
