Gary Rowett has stated that new loan signing Daniel Ballard arrives at the club with "fabulous pedigree" and is looking forward to the defender "pushing the group forward."
The 21-year-old centre-back became the manager's third signing of the summer transfer window on Thursday and will now spend the 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship campaign on loan from Arsenal.
Ballard spent the previous season at Blackpool, making 30 appearances in a Tangerines side which went on to win the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final, defeating Lincoln City at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk, Rowett explained: "Dan comes in from Arsenal with fabulous pedigree. He's a young defender with great size and good experience with Northern Ireland and Blackpool last season.
"We feel there's an opportunity for him to come in and push the group forward. It will be a good challenge for him."
