Gary Rowett brought George Saville back to Millwall on Friday - and coined the midfielder's arrival as "positive signing for the group."
The 28-year-old midfielder arrives from Middlesbrough on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, and when speaking to millwallfc.co.uk, Rowett explained how Saville was on his radar when thinking about adding goals to his side.
"I think myself, Harvey, the staff and Steve have been working very hard over the last six weeks and the last few days are a culmination of that," he said.
"We spoke about adding goals to the team at the end of last season and adding the right type of players with the right type of mindset who know the club and can fit into the group quickly.
"We always wanted to get some of those players over the line especially before we head to Scotland next week. We're looking for goals and he has that ability to arrive and time his runs into the box, he's got composure in terms of his finishing and in the final third, and he has just turned 28, so he's at the peak of his career, in my opinion.
"It all came together really well and it's another positive signing for the group."
