Gary Rowett was "pleased" with Millwall's performance in Saturday's 3-0 pre-season victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Benik Afobe's double and Jed Wallace's strike ensured a comfortable afternoon in Suffolk for The Lions, in which they were able to welcome back a quartet by the names of Shaun Hutchinson, Maikel Kieftenbeld, George Saville and Jed Wallace.
"For some players, that was the first action they've had for quite a while, but I thought that they coped with it really well," the boss told millwallfc.co.uk.
"Hutchy, Kief, Saville and Jed, I think they're four big players for us and you could see that today. They knitted some of those areas together well and I thought we passed the ball around really well and kept control. We were quite progressive with our passing and got into some good areas, mixing up things and trying to exploit the space.
"I was really pleased with the performance. The first goal was a good goal, Benik has been really bright and needed that goal. He showed a poacher's instinct. Then the second, there were a lot of good passes and good interchange - I thought we were more creative today and brighter in and around that final third and the second goal showed that.
"The third goal comes from a set-piece. There was a lot I was pleased with - I still think there's aspects I'd like us to do better on, but that's what pre-season is for. We've got a lot of work to do this week, but there was a lot of good things to come out of the game."
