Danny McNamara finally got the chance to play in front of Millwall's supporters on Tuesday night - and now cannot wait for the Sky Bet Championship opener at Queens Park Rangers on 7th August.
The right-back played 71 minutes as Jake Cooper's late leveller secured a 1-1 draw against Gillingham in a pre-season friendly at Priestfield, endearing himself to the Lions faithful with some hefty challenges in the opening stages.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after the game, the Irishman shared his delight at finally playing in front on fans, and also gave his take on the game.
"It's been a long time coming, I've wanted it for a while," he said. "It was so good to play in front of fans.
"We were creating chances in the first-half but lacked in the final ball, but in the second-half we came out and moved the ball quicker, switching it side-to-side and creating chances. Smudge [Matt Smith] came on and created the goal and I think we did really well."
