Scott Malone has suggested that Millwall's 2021/22 season would be a "failure" if The Lions achieved anything less than a top 10 finish.
The left-back spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at The Den, making 43 appearances and scoring six goals, and put pen-to-paper on a deal in the summer, marking his second permanent stay.
When asked about his return to SE16, the 30-year-old told millwallfc.co.uk: "I'm really happy. There's nowhere else I wanted to go, to be honest. The gaffer and the club made it pretty clear that they wanted me as soon as the season finished and I'm glad it was done quickly. I'm happy to be back.
"It's a great group. The new lads who have come in have settled in really well. The gaffer gave me freedom in that wing-back role, giving me the licence to go forward. That's my game, up and down - I can do it all game."
The defender went on to set The Lions' stall out for the forthcoming campaign.
"We've got to build on it. We've had two top half finishes in the last two seasons, so to not build on that in the third would be a failure. We've made some good signings and added quality - anything less than a top 10 finish would be a failure."
