Evans on adding goals to his game

A first full season for the number 28...

8 July 2021

George Evans has described his time at Millwall as the "favourite" in his career so far - and the midfielder is looking forward to his first full season in a blue shirt.

Since signing from Derby County in January 2021, the 26-year-old has excelled for The Lions, whether in a midfield role or as part of Gary Rowett's back three.

"I've absolutely loved it," he told millwallfc.co.uk. "It's been my favourite time playing football since I've been here. It's been a breath of fresh air for me."

Evans was glad of the recent summer break after what seemed like two seasons rolled into one given the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It was a season like no other, everything rolled into one another, especially at the back end. It's been great to have a break, but you do miss it - everyone has been excited to come back in and see each other."

With just one Lions strike to his name so far - a last-gasp leveller at Luton Town - the former Ram is looking to add more goals to his game in 2021/22.

"Goals is one thing my game massively needs. Whether that's in terms of going forward or creating assists, I think I'm capable of getting some more goals. I need to make sure I'm doing that."
