Jed Wallace on "unreal feeling" in West London

Saturday's goalscorer speaks...

9 August 2021

Jed Wallace scored Millwall's first goal of the season for the third consecutive year on Saturday afternoon - and went on to describe his excitement over the return of fans after the final whistle.

The 27-year-old, who scored 11 goals in 2020/21, got off the mark with a fine left-footed finish in the weekend's 1-1 draw, running the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of The Lions' 2,500-strong travelling contigent.

The attacker couldn't hide his delight when speaking post-match.

"I loved it," he told millwallfc.co.uk. "What an unreal feeling. Myself, more than most, haven't enjoyed the last 18 months, so what a great feeling.

"We started the game really well and were strong - I think QPR will be there or thereabouts this season. The game swung both ways and a draw was probably a fair result in the end. A point is a good start and with two home games to come now at The Den, with fans back - we're buzzing for it."
