Benik Afobe is enjoying his time at Millwall - and can't wait to get the Sky Bet Championship ball rolling this Saturday at Queens Park Rangers.
The striker scored two goals in The Lions' 3-0 pre-season friendly win against Ipswich Town at Portman Road last Saturday - Jed Wallace with the other - and the Stoke City loanee was pleased with his team's display.
"We've had a lot of games in this pre-season but the last one always feels like the real one," he told millwallfc.co.uk. "We've played at a good stadium, against a good team on a good pitch, and to get three goals and a clean sheet is a good way to finish."
Afobe had a previous loan spell in SE16 prematurely ended by an unfortunate long-term injury in 2013, but the 28-year-old went on to explain just how much enjoyment he is getting from his second spell with the club.
"I've played for a fair amount of teams and this is right up there. All the lads are great, I could honestly go for dinner with any of them. I know the gaffer and the staff from before, too. It's been really enjoyable - I came here to enjoy my football again, but also to have a go and bring my experience of this level.
"I think they're also enjoying having me here. Long may that continue and hopefully we'll have a good season.
"I feel fresh and I feel good. This team is one of the fittest in the League and we haven't had many injuries, so we're all ready."
