Murray Wallace is prepared to be Mr Adaptable during 2020/21 - and is raring to get the new campaign underway.
The 27-year-old made 47 appearances in 2019/20, mainly as a left-wing-back, but may now revert back to a centre-half in The Lions' back three for the new season.
That is due to the summer signing of Scott Malone on a season-long-loan - but the Scot, speaking to millwallfc.co.uk, has stated that is something he is more than happy with.
"[The excitement levels] are always the same," the defender said ahead of the season opener against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon. "We've come back from a shorter break and had a shorter pre-season, but it's still been tough. We've had some good games and good training, and we're ready to go.
"I've had a chat with the manager, and [changing positions] is something we've wanted to do with so many games this season. We've wanted to strengthen the squad. It's a great addition to get Scotty in, and it allows me to move about into different positions that he knows I can play in."
