Millwall Football Club can confirm the list of second-year scholars who are being released at the end of this 2019/20 season.
Leighton Fanshawe, Ben Bennett, Chibuike Ezennolim, Jay Barton and Jacob Munting have all been informed of the club's decision to let them go.
“First and foremost I’d like to thank Leighton, Ben, Chibuike, Jay and Jacob for their professionalism and hard work throughout their time at Millwall,” Academy Director Scott Fitzgerald said.
“These are always extremely tough decisions and it’s of course very difficult for the boys to hear. But they’re all great characters and I hope they each learn from this and bounce back quickly.
“I wish each of them nothing but the very best of luck and I hope they go on to have long and successful careers.”
