Millwall's Under 23s drew 0-0 with Coventry City in the Professional Development League on Monday afternoon.
It was a tale of two penalties at the Alan Higgs Centre, as George Alexander had a spot-kick saved before Ryan Sandford repeated the feat from David Bremang's strike from 12 yards out.
Despite those misses, both sides continued to huff and puff for the elusive first goal, but had to make do with a point which keeps The Sky Blues and The Lions in second and third place respectively - however Kevin Nugent's side have one game in hand on Coventry and two games in hand on top of the table Watford, with just a three-point gap.
The Under 23s meet Watford at Calmont Road next Monday, but have a rearranged fixture at Ipswich Town this Friday to negotiate beforehand.
Millwall: Sandford, Brown (Moss 60'), Topalloj, Mitchell, Muller, Strachan, Skalak, Leonard (Duncan 60'), Alexander, Burey, O'Brien. Subs not used: Barton, Fanshawe, Skeffington.
