Millwall enjoyed a 4-1 derby day victory over West Ham United at The Den on Mother's Day.
Christian Dailly's own-goal got the scoring underway, before a Tim Cahill double and a late Nick Chadwick strike secured all three points in SE16.
Marlon Harewood's penalty-kick acted as The Hammers' consolation goal, whilst Millwall's margin of victory could have been extended even further had Stephen Bywater - who later saw red - not saved Neil Harris' early spot-kick and Cahill not missed his for what would have been a hat-trick.
Just days after securing a place in the final four of the FA Cup, Dennis Wise and Ray Wilkins opted for a 4-4-2 formation against West Ham, with Kevin Muscat, Matt Lawrence, Darren Ward and Robbie Ryan in front of Andy Marshall, with Paul Ifill, Cahill, Andy Roberts and David Livermore occupying the midfield. Danny Dichio partnered Harris in attack.
With 16 minutes played The Lions had the chance to take the lead from the spot after Matthew Etherington fouled Ifill, but Bywater was equal to Harris' kick.
There were 34 minutes on the clock, however, when Millwall took the lead, as Dailly turned the ball past his own goalkeeper from Ifill's teasing cross.
Dichio was replaced by Chadwick at the break, and just seconds after the resumption Millwall were two to the good as the substitute crossed for Cahill to nod home his first of the game, despite Bywater's best efforts. The Hammers were back in it just three minutes later, though, as Lawrence's concession of a spot-kick allowed Harewood to score, but a superb Cahill volley with 56 minutes elapsed restored the two-goal lead.
A clumsy challenge from Bywater led to a red card for the stopper and another penalty for The Lions, but as Cahill attempted to complete his hat-trick, he ballooned his kick well wide.
Millwall were not to be denied a fourth on a famous day, though, as Chadwick battled his way through to secure a 4-1 victory.
