Tony Cascarino and Teddy Sheringham formed a deadly strike partnership in Millwall’s heyday – and the duo will reunite for a special Legends Evening at The Den on Thursday 19th March.
After winning The Lions a first-ever – and currently only – promotion to the top flight of English football in the late 1980s, the pair went their separate ways, but they will now be back together again at the place where it all began.
In association with Millwall Community Trust, both players will reminisce about their favourite Millwall memories and share other stories from their long and successful careers in football.
Cascarino underlined the importance of MCT, and community trusts in general, ahead of the event.
“The local community is the heartbeat of any club. At the very highest level of English football, you can see what Manchester City have done for their area.
“If all football clubs are going to survive, you need the community. You’re trying to create a family, and Millwall are at the forefront of that. The club is special to that part of South London.”
The event will be held in the Executive Lounge at The Den, where a welcome drinks reception will be held at 6.30pm, followed by a three-course dinner and live entertainment from local band The Deptford Rascals.
The Irishman expressed his excitement for the event, and also had a message for those who are yet to snap up the few remaining tickets.
“Teddy and I haven’t really done anything together in the 30 years we’ve known each other. He went off on his own track, becoming a Champions League winner etc, and I went my way, but we’ve always kept in touch and regularly speak.
“I’m excited about the Legends Evening. I’m looking forward to spending some time with Ted and talking to the people who used to watch us back in the late 1980s.
“If you haven’t already, buy your ticket – it’s taken 30 years to get us together, who knows when the next time will be! It’s a one-off night and it’s going to be a very special occasion. I’m looking forward to being with Millwall fans who appreciate what we did and vice versa.”
Tickets for the event are priced at £60 per person and can be purchased online at www.millwalltickets.com or by calling 0844 826 2004*
Tables for 10 people are priced at £500 and can be purchased over the phone or in person at the Ticket Office only.
