Positive result is imperative, stresses boss

The manager on Swansea visit...

29 June 2020

Millwall boss Gary Rowett has stated that anything but a win on Tuesday night will make it "difficult" for The Lions to achieve their end-of-season aspirations.

Swansea City are the visitors to The Den (kick-off 5pm) for a match which will be shown LIVE on Sky Sports - and when speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after Saturday's goalless draw at Barnsley, Rowett stressed the importance of picking up the club's first win following the resumption of the Sky Bet Championship season.

"Whilst I have to be as positive as I can be and make sure it's not too much of a massive issue for us, it's been tough [since returning]," he said.

"We finished with a 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest and struggled to get that back as quickly as we'd like. It's a nine-game mini-season and you can't afford to not get momentum.

"We need to win on Tuesday - if we don't, then it is going to be difficult to for us to get to where we want to be. Saturday was a point and a performance in the right direction, but there were tinges of disappointment as well."
