Mahlon Romeo has been voted into third place in the Millwall Supporters' Club 2019/20 Player of the Season vote.
The 22-year-old right-back has come on leaps and bounds this year, making 44 appearances in nailing down the defensive slot - and the Antigua and Barbuda international told millwallfc.co.uk at his pleasure with a "pivotal" campaign in SE16.
"I'm happy," he said. "Just to be on that list, in first, second or third, makes me proud. To think that the fans have voted for me and I'm on the poll is a big achievement and a nice feeling.
"I think I've come on a lot - this has been one of the most pivotal seasons I've had in a long time. I think with the manager we have now, I think I'm really going to kick on next year. We have a good relationship, and so do all the players."
Despite playing at the back, Romeo has been able to express himself offensively more during 2019/20 as part of the manager's fluid formations - and the defender is looking forward to linking up with Jed Wallace once again in the new campaign.
"In games where things have opened up a bit more, that formation plays into my hands, because it gives me a chance to attack. Jed and I have got a good relationship - he's a bit crazy, but he's always sprinting around and linking up well. He always looks for me and I always look for him, so if both of us can keep pushing forward next season, we'll do really well."
