Billy Mitchell is an old head on young shoulders - and after making his first Sky Bet Championship start on Saturday, the new Mr Versatile is already looking forward to Tuesday's crunch clash with Blackburn Rovers.
The 19-year-old midfielder was deployed as a right-wing-back for the weekend's 1-0 victory at Hull City, showing levels of maturity and experience which belied his younger years - and he nearly capped his day with a first senior goal for the club.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after the game, however, Mitchell explained the need to fully focus on Tuesday's visit of Tony Mowbray's men - and the club's own destiny - after the win at the KCOM Stadium put The Lions just two points behind sixth-placed Cardiff City.
"Tuesday is massive," he said. "We can't focus too much on other teams, we've just got to get in our rest day [on Sunday], train as well as we can on Monday and concentrate on ourselves.
"We don't want to get too wrapped up in what others are doing. We can't control that, we can only control how we play and the results we get from that. We'll go again Tuesday - it's all to play for.
"It's in our hands. It's hard these days to not look [at other results], you can check on goals as they go in, and you want to know what's going on. But, we're the only ones who can control our destiny. We've got three games left, we've got to perform as well as we can, and who knows."
