Pleased with some of it, pleased with most of it, disappointed with a little bit of it, but delighted with a win - that's how Millwall boss Gary Rowett described Friday night's 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
Jake Cooper's 81st-minute winner secured The Lions another three points over their closest rivals in SE7 - a first win since the resumption of the 2019/20 and a victory which lifts the club into eighth place, two points off the Play-Off places.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after the game, the manager explained how he stressed the importance of the game to the players, and also detailed how changes made facilitated the win.
"That's two derby wins in a season, and I spoke to the players and told them just how important it was for the fans sitting at home watching it," he said. "They're not here, but they're still going to expect drive, expect desire and to show the ambition to want to win the game.
"We made changes to try and nick a winner, and we did. I thought it was deserved. Who knows where we're going to be after the weekend, but we've put pressure on the other teams and that's all we can do."
