Billy Mitchell has been named as Millwall's 2019/20 Young Player of the Season.
The 19-year-old, who made his professional Lions debut at Wigan Athletic on the final day of the 2018/19 campaign, has risen through the ranks this season to become a squad regular, making 10 appearances - seven in The Championship - under the guidance of former manager Neil Harris and Gary Rowett.
Speaking shortly after receiving the news of his win, Mitchell told millwallfc.co.uk of his excitement in being chosen for the award in his "breakthrough year."
"I'm very delighted," he said. "I've only just found out from [The Lions' media team], so I'm a bit surprised, but it's definitely welcome news.
"It's been a bit of a breakthrough year for me, and it's very nice to hear that the manager has selected me to win the award. It shows your work is appreciated. Hopefully this season has given me a platform to go on and achieve some bigger and better things."
Predominantly a central midfielder, Mitchell has had to adapt to a new role in recent times, at right-wing-back - a position he has flourished in.
The Lions fan expressed his praise for both managers, past and present, in his development and rise to the top.
"I won't ever forget what Neil Harris did for me, but Gary Rowett and his staff have been equally as good, if not better. He has given me so many starts and substitute appearances this season - I really can't thank him enough for that. I hope to do enough in training and in games to repay his faith in me.
"I think next year, there is more to come. I've barely touched the surface of what I'm capable of. If I keep going the way I'm going, I feel I'll be able to add something to the team next year."
