"We can't control other results, we can only do what we can do" - that's the view of Millwall's Mason Bennett ahead of the final two games of the 2019/20 campaign.
The Sky Bet Championship season reaches its climax in the next seven days, and with The Lions currently just one place and two points behind sixth-place Cardiff City in the League standings, the heat is on in the battle for the final Play-Off place and a shot at the Premier League.
Millwall faltered slightly at the resumption of the season - without fans present - in losing to Derby County and drawing with Barnsley and Swansea City, but three wins in four, all by a scoreline of 1-0, since then have put Gary Rowett's men on the brink.
Bennett, who turned 24 on Wednesday, has scored twice at The Den since the restart and, despite the gaping hole left by the lack of fans inside the stadium, the attacker has claimed that the squad are doing all they can to ensure the season ends in success.
"The club speaks for itself in how the fans give us so much, so I do miss them," he told millwallfc.co.uk. "They give us that extra 5%. I think we've done well, though, to manage them not being around.
"A game of football is a game of football, though. It's two teams going at it, sword to sword, and trying to win. It's a bit strange [to be playing behind closed doors], but I think everyone is getting to used to it now. We're winning games - that's the main thing."
Millwall's number 20 arrived on loan from Derby County before lockdown and has endeared himself to the Lions faithful ever since - and the feeling is mutual.
"I've loved it - I've loved every single second of it. The reaction the fans gave me when they were in the stadiums and what they've given me on social media since lockdown came in - it's a great place to come, away from my comfort zone and it has tested me.
"It's paying off at the moment. We've only got two weeks left - hopefully three and a bit longer - but I'm going to enjoy the last couple of games and see what happens in the summer."
On Saturday's visit to Queens Park Rangers and potential Play-Off chances, this weekend's match is just another game to Millwall's squad.
"No one speaks about it. No one speaks about other teams, we just go out to win the game. We can't control other results, we can only do what we can do, so we're going to give it everything we've got."
