Millwall continue a busy period by travelling to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday - and boss Gary Rowett has challenged his players to react to Tuesday night's defeat at Leeds United.
The Lions take on The Owls in the Sky Bet Championship (kick-off 3pm) in the second game of a spell that sees the club take on some of the division's heavy-hitters and promotion chasers, and after only a third loss during his tenure at Millwall at Elland Road, Rowett told millwallfc.co.uk that he desires his squad to reach new levels.
"We have to respond well after a defeat. We have in my time, although we've had only had two others," he said.
"[Tuesday] gives us a level to attain. We know that was a level above anything we've seen in my time here and we've now got to work hard to try to get to that. That starts on Saturday. We've got to go there and be at our very best. It's the second game in a big month and we've got to go out there and perform."
Rowett went on to explain how his side have shown the capabilities to pick up points on the road and against the top sides; after Saturday's meeting, The Lions host West Bromwich Albion and Fulham before travelling to Preston North End.
"We've gone to places before and got results - we did it at Swansea, we did it at Bristol, we got a point at Birmingham and at Stoke and beat Derby. This month is a big challenge and it's about whether we can rise to it. We're certainly going to try. Even on Tuesday, you saw a team trying - we certainly won't leave any lack of effort out there."
