Manager Gary Rowett says Millwall's final ball left him frustrated on Wednesday evening after The Lions shared the points with Birmingham City at The Den.

The draw against The Blues leaves Millwall six points adrift of sixth place in the Sky Bet Championship table with 11 games remaining this campaign.

Millwall started the evening brightly but as the game wore on, a lack of quality from both sides in the final third saw the game end goalless, with Rowett describing it as a 'difficult game to play in'.

With Bristol City up next for Millwall at The Den, Rowett has taken plenty of positives from the game but has emphasised the need for his side to improve their quality at vital moments in the game.

Speaking to, he said: "It's just that final ball. When we've played really well this season, we've found the final ball or we've found the set-piece and that's opened the game up.

"Today was a classic example where we just couldn't find that final bit, but you know what, I couldn't ask any more from the players or from the fans.

"It was just one of those games where we couldn't quite find the last little bit and I'm sure we're all a little bit frustrated by it."
