Three points at Deepdale on Saturday moved Gary Rowett's side within four points of the Play-Off positions and defender Shaun Hutchinson says it was a deserved victory for The Lions.

Facing a Preston North End side who boast the best home record in the Sky Bet Championship, Hutchinson's 77th minute header ensured Millwall went home with all three points with the defender labelling the performance as brilliant'.

Casting aside the difficult Storm Dennis conditions, The Lions saw out the latter stages of the game and came close to taking the lead minutes earlier after Tom Bradshaw's effort clattered the crossbar.

Reflecting on the game, Hutch admits he felt the overall performance deserved more goals but was delighted with the result.

Hutchinson said to millwallfc.co.uk: "I thought after the first 10/15 minutes we really grew into the game. We didn't start great but I thought we dominated the game at a difficult place to come with the best home record in the League.

"I thought we put in an absolutely brilliant performance, should've probably of sealed it with more of a convincing win perhaps maybe two or three nil, but a win in the end and yes, delighted."
