Reuben Duncan, George Alexander and Sean O'Brien all scored twice as Millwall's Under 23s thumped Colchester United 6-1 in the Professional Development League at Calmont Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Duncan and O'Brien registered in the first-half before Colchester halved the deficit - a strike that would turn out to be scant consolation - before Alexander found the net twice after the break, alongside further goals from the former duo, to secure a resounding success for Kevin Nugent's side.
The game was just four minutes old when Millwall took the lead, as Duncan converted a Nana Boateng assist - the first of four for the youngster.
O'Brien then doubled The Lions' lead shortly before the half-hour mark, before Jake Hutchinson's goal reduced the arrears shortly before the break.
Millwall, however, ran riot in the second-half, with firstly Alexander restoring the two-goal lead from the penalty spot in the 57th minute, before barely two minutes had passed before O'Brien grabbed his second and The Lions' fourth.
The action wasn't over there, though, as four became five in the 67th minute through Alexander, before Duncan finished the rout by finding the net with 18 minutes remaining.
Next up for Millwall's Under 23s is a trip to Bristol City on Tuesday 22nd December.
