Gary Rowett has described the mood in the Millwall camp as "brilliant" as The Lions' trip to Scotland continues.
With a week elapsed since the squad's return to pre-season training ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, Rowett and his staff have put the players through their paces in a variety of ways, such as body fat testing, long-distance running and more - but the boss has stated that the camaraderie in the group has made sure they have taken it all in their stride.
"[The mood has] been brilliant," Rowett told millwallfc.co.uk. "When you have only three weeks off, you feel as though some will come back mentally jaded, but they've come back in great spirits. They're such a tight group, I think they just like being together.
"We've been able to get all the testing and protocol done, and then come up here to spend 24/7 with each other and get some good work in. There's been double sessions virtually every day. We've picked up a couple of niggles along the way, which you don't really want to happen, but that's the nature of pre-season."
This summer represents Rowett's first season with his squad, and the manager is determined to use the short amount of time available to drill certain aspects of his thinking into the players.
"We haven't had to do as much running and volume of work as you would usually have to, but we've still done a fair amount. We've also tried to mix things up. They've been away for three weeks without any input from me, so it's just about getting those attacking and defensive principles back into play, and giving those tactical nuances that we worked on last year and want to improve on this year.
"The facilities here are really good, we've got everything we need on our doorstep. The pitches are really good and the hotel is close by."
