Scott Malone is excited to re-join a "fantastic football club" in Millwall - and can't wait to "give it another go" in his second spell with The Lions.
The 29-year-old left-back put pen-to-paper on a season-long loan deal on Thursday, kick-starting another period in SE16 after he made 71 appearances in a blue shirt between 2012-2015.
Speaking to millwallfc.co.uk after the move was completed, Malone explained how as soon as news of the interest came about, The Den was the only place he wanted to be.
"I'm really excited to be here again, I'm looking forward to enjoying my football again and coming into a good environment," he said. "That's one of the major draws for me.
"About a week ago I got a call from Gary and he said that he wanted me here. From there, it was the only place I wanted to be.
"I really enjoyed my time here before, it's a fantastic football club. The fans are one of the best in The Championship with regards to the noise, in my opinion, and it is a hard place to come for away teams. I wanted to give it another go."
Malone's career has taken him to a number of clubs, including Fulham, who he contested the Championship Play-Offs with, and Huddersfield Town, where he gained Premier League experience - and the former Lion believes that will stand him in good stead as Millwall look for a top six berth in 2020/21.
"In the last three or four seasons I've been in the Play-Offs twice and played in the Premier League as well, so I'm bringing experience. I think I'd suit the wing-back role - I've played there in my career and I'm an attacking full-back, but I'll play wherever the manager wants me to. I'm dying to play games again, it's been a frustrating last 12 months."
