Preview | Millwall v Stoke City

Lions to mark Remembrance Day at The Den

25 October 2019

Millwall welcome Stoke City to The Den in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

Following Tuesday night's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City, The Lions enter a new era at The Den, with Gary Rowett taking charge for the first time against The Potters.

The manager has no fresh injury worries after the midweek match, with Ryan Leonard and Frank Fielding still out. Jiri Skalak has featured for the Under 23s in recent times, but this game should come too soon for the Czech.

With the home game against Charlton Athletic on Saturday 9th November designated as The Lions' annual 'Jimmy's Day', Millwall will mark Remembrance Day against Nathan Jones' side. The club is welcoming army and navy personnel as special guests this weekend, with soldiers pitchside ahead of kick-off against The Potters. For a full rundown on all pre-match activities, please click here.

Bucket collections for the British Legion Poppy Appeal will be held around the ground before kick-off, so dig deep! Poppy badges will also be on sale in different locations around the stadium. They promise to sell fast, though, so be quick and don't miss out!

Millwall will also wear poppies on their shirts for the game, after which all match-worn kits will be auctioned in order to raise more money for the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Tickets for the fixture will be on sale up until kick-off, but if you are unable to attend, then full match commentary will be available on iFollow Millwall, with coverage starting around 2.50pm. International subscribers will also be able to watch all the action from The Den on iFollow. Click here for full details.

Sitting in Zampa's Family Stand? Please sit in the seat allocated to you on your ticket before the game and during the match.

Millwall's matchday programme, on sale around the ground for just £3, is a special commemorative Remembrance edition. Where appropriate, the issue has been printed in black and white as a mark of respect for the fallen.

The SE16 Bar will be open from 1.30pm, with local band The Deptford Rascals playing live music up until kick-off - so if you fancy a pre-match pint, it's the place to be!

Millwall's Halloween themed Family Fun Zone will also be open from 1-2pm - for FREE fun, please click here.

Manager Rowett and Icelandic striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson have been speaking to millwallfc.co.uk in the build-up to the fixture, and you can read what they had to say by clicking the relevant links. Meanwhile, our opposition preview on Stoke City can be viewed here.
