Steve Rendell completes half-marathon in aid of Harvey Brown and MPS Society

Lions fan raises over £6,000 for charity after completing course on Sunday afternoon

25 March 2019

We are very pleased to confirm that Millwall fan Steve Rendell completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) on Sunday afternoon, in aid of the MPS Society and popular young Lion, Harvey Brown.

Steve finished the 13.1-mile course in a time of two hours and 20 minutes, and was congratulated and presented with his medal by 10-year-old Harvey at the finish line in Westminster, next to Downing Street.

The duo were very commendably given VIP treatment throughout the day, meeting fellow participants which included Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.

Harvey is one of just 78 children in the UK with the rare disease Morquio, and after a couple of successful charity adventures previously - for Help 4 Heroes and Walking for the Wounded - Steve decided to pick an event in London to continue his fundraising.

Steve has raised a remarkable £6,300 and counting during his quest - and further donations to this more-than-worthy cause can be made here. Following completion of the half-marathon, Steve also pledged his heartfelt praise to Millwall Football Club for its support with his fundraising efforts, in an interview with BBC Radio London.

Take a look at our selection of photos from the event in the gallery above.
