Following the first international break of 2019, the trio of Millwall players representing their nations returned to Calmont Road ahead of a crucial nine games ahead in the Sky Bet Championship. Here we take a look at how our Lions with their national sides over the past week…

Shane Ferguson, Conor McLaughlin – Northern Ireland

Shane Ferguson and Conor McLaughlin both appeared for Northern Ireland as they consolidated a good start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign in Group C, against opponents Estonia and Belarus. Michael O’Neill’s men took maximum points from the two matches, with Shane playing nine minutes and Conor playing six in a 2-0 home victory over the Estonians first up. Shane then gained another cap in Sunday’s late 2-1 win over Belarus at Windsor Park, introduced 85 minutes in with the scores still level.

Aiden O’Brien – Republic of Ireland

Aiden O’Brien’s Republic of Ireland side also top their qualification group, sitting pretty in Group D after their opening two games with a full six points. Following Aiden’s late call-up by returning Irish boss Mick McCarthy, the forward was firstly an unused substitute in a 1-0 win in Gibraltar, before featuring in the final 16 minutes of the nation’s victory over an improving Georgia outfit in Dublin three days later – also won by a solitary goal.
