Millwall Football Club is delighted to confirm the arrival of goalkeeper Frank Fielding at The Den.
Fielding, 31, has signed a contract with The Lions having departed Bristol City earlier this summer, following six years and 181 appearances at Ashton Gate.
The stopper becomes Neil Harris’ second senior summer signing, having secured the permanent capture of Alex Pearce.
Standing at 6’1’’ and with a wealth of Championship-level experience, Fielding began his career on the books of local club Blackburn Rovers, gaining first-team experience on loan at clubs including Wycombe Wanderers, Rochdale and Derby County.
Fielding would join the latter on a permanent basis in 2011, making 60 League outings before his move to Bristol City two years later.
The goalkeeper enjoyed some fantastic memories during his time with The Robins, earning particular plaudits in the 2014/15 season as the club won both the League One title and Football League Trophy – and on a personal note, winning a place in the division’s PFA Team of the Year. Fielding also participated in the club’s run to the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals in 2017/18.
As well as his club exploits, Fielding has also represented England at various levels, making 12 appearances for the Under 21 side. The goalkeeper was also once called up to the senior squad in 2010.
Fielding will join up with the squad for pre-season training, and will wear the number one shirt at The Den.
