Millwall look "fit, sharp and ready to go" according to midfielder Ben Thompson.
The Lions are entering the final day of the pre-season training camp and on Tuesday night suffered a narrow defeat to Portuguese giants Braga.
The players have been training non-stop in the Algarve - often several times a day - and have also fitted in two games, the first of which was against Fleetwood on Saturday.
Thompson has featured in both and believes he and his team-mates are in a better place this summer ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Speaking after the game against Braga, he said: "It was good minutes and everyone did very well.
"They've got a great squad and some of the football they play is outstanding. The way they pass it about, the technique, the sharpness they've got - it's second to none. That is where you aspire to be as a player.
"As a team we played extremely well compared to where we were at last year. I think we're a better team now and that showed out there.
"The training has been good - the standard of it has been brilliant. Everyone looks fit, sharp and ready to go. We're looking forward to the season."
