Millwall Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of winger Connor Mahoney on a long-term contract.
The 22-year-old departs AFC Bournemouth for The Den, and joins The Lions for an undisclosed fee.
Mahoney becomes Neil Harris’ fourth incoming player of the summer, following earlier deals for Alex Pearce, Frank Fielding and Matt Smith.
Adept on either flank, Mahoney began his football on the books of hometown club Blackburn Rovers, and returned to Ewood Park after a brief spell with Accrington Stanley – for whom he made his senior League debut in 2013, aged just 16.
He would then go on to make 21 appearances for Blackburn before moving south to Bournemouth in 2017. Mahoney gained further Championship experience during a loan spell at Barnsley in the latter stage of the 2017/18 season, and made 30 outings on loan at Birmingham City last campaign – scoring two goals and earning the club’s Young Player of the Season award.
The winger has represented England at various youth levels, earning three caps for the nation’s Under 20 side in late 2017.
