Preview | Millwall v Barnsley

The Lions are back at The Den

20 December 2019

Millwall play their final game before Christmas on Saturday afternoon as The Lions welcome Barnsley to The Den (kick-off 3pm).

Gary Rowett's side return home after two fantastic away wins at Bristol City and Derby County, and will look to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches against The Tykes.

Jason McCarthy has returned to training, but Saturday's match may come too soon for him, with Shane Ferguson also in the same boat. Ryan Leonard is still out, whilst Ben Thompson looks set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury at Pride Park.

Billy Mitchell could be drafted into the squad in Thompson's absence, with the likes of Jiri Skalak, Aiden O'Brien and Matt Smith all pushing for a start should Rowett decide to change things up.

Tickets for Saturday's game will be on sale up until kick-off, but if you are unable to make it to The Den, then full match commentary will be available on iFollow Millwall, with coverage beginning at around 2.50pm. Unfortunately, video coverage of the meeting with The Tykes will not be shown on iFollow due to the afternoon being broadcasted overseas - click here for more.

Millwall's Family Fun Zone will be open between 1-2pm, whilst a DJ will be creating a festive atmosphere at the Bus Stop Band Stand from 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, The Lions' first-ever Santa Dash takes place on Saturday! Runners will pound the streets of London before kick-off dressed in blue Santa suits in aid of ECHO. Click here for more details.

Shaun Williams is on the front of this weekend's matchday programme, which is on sale around the ground before kick-off for just £3. Inside, the midfield man talks about reaching the landmark of 250 appearances for Millwall, with the usual stats, facts and features inside.

Lions boss Rowett has been speaking to in the build-up to Saturday's game, and you can read what he had to say by clicking here.
