Loan Watch: Nelson stars in big win as Thompson and Onyedinma's sides face off

Keep up with the progress of our lads out on loan

24 September 2018

Throughout 2018/19, millwallfc.co.uk will keep up with the news of our players out on loan deals. Here we have the latest on the five Lions currently with their respective temporary clubs...

Ben Thompson - Portsmouth

Ben Thompson was an unused substitute for Kenny Jackett's Portsmouth as they played out an exciting 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers, represented by Fred Onyedinma. Ben is currently fighting for a place with fellow central midfielders such as Tom Naylor and Ben Close, and will be keen to make a return for second-placed Pompey in Sky Bet League One next weekend away at Rochdale. Ben's side are now the only undefeated team in the division following the weekend's results.

Sid Nelson - Swindon Town

Sid Nelson certainly did no harm to his hopes of remaining at the heart of the Swindon defence, as his side ran out 3-0 winners at Huish Park against Yeovil Town. Sid played the full 90 minutes in a comprehensive victory, contributing with a clean sheet to lift The Robins into eighth in Sky Bet League Two.

Tom King - AFC Wimbledon

Tom King was an unused substitute in Wimbledon's two matches in the past week - a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City in the Checkatrade Trophy, followed by a 2-1 reverse at Accrington Stanley in Sky Bet League One.

Fred Onyedinma - Wycombe Wanderers

Fred Onyedinma faced off against Ben Thompson's Portsmouth for Wycombe on Saturday, as they clawed back to earn a late draw at Fratton Park after falling behind. Fred played the full match and won the penalty converted in the 89th minute to grab the point, with Gareth Ainsworth's men now 18th in League One.

Harry Donovan - Dagenham & Redbridge

Harry Donovan played 79 minutes for Dagenham as they agonisingly lost out 1-0 at Eastleigh in the Vanarama National League. The Daggers sit 22nd in the division, with Harry looking to improve results against Solihull Moors this Tuesday night.
