Following the recent international break, the five players from Neil Harris’ Millwall squad who represented their nations will now return to Calmont Road ahead of the weekend’s League visit to Reading. Here we take a look at our international Lions…
Aiden O’Brien, Shaun Williams – Republic of Ireland
Aiden O’Brien and Shaun Williams were called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for UEFA Nations League clashes against Denmark and Wales by manager Martin O’Neill. Both players were on the scoresheet during the last international break, but unfortunately the Irish were unable to breach the opposing defences this time around. Shaun was an unused substitute across the two matches, whilst Aiden’s start and 56 minutes against Wales followed a seven-minute cameo against the Danes.
Conor McLaughlin, Shane Ferguson – Northern Ireland
Northern Irish duo Conor McLaughlin and Shane Ferguson were included in Michael O’Neill’s squad for Nations League meetings in Austria and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Unfortunately for the side they were narrowly beaten in Vienna by a solitary goal, before going down 2-0 against the Bosnians. Conor was amongst the substitutes for both matches, with Shane’s club form rewarded with a 56-minute appearance in the Austria clash.
Mahlon Romeo – Antigua & Barbuda
Mahlon Romeo was called up for Antigua & Barbuda for their CONCACAF Nations League qualifier against The Bahamas. Mahlon was on the substitutes’ bench for the side as they ran out 6-0 winners, with former Brentford and Southend United man Myles Weston hitting a hat-trick.
Be sure to keep up-to-date with our players’ international action in our next International Round-Up.
